Good day, I hope you enjoyed my lecture yesterday on Organizational Culture and I look forward to reading your feedback on our Conference Team's Organizational Culture and how you are contributing to the success of our Conference when you answer the questions from the Status Report I handed out yesterday. Please hand in the answers today. Ensure you review Chapter 4 on Organizational Culture and read the sections on "What Strong Cultures Do" , "Organizational Culture", and "Values based Management".
The Test on the Organizational Culture and Communications Chapters is Scheduled for Tuesday, May 20. I have not reviewed all sections of these chapters in class, so you should read the text and take the tests on the student companion web site. The concepts and material in these chapters are key concepts that you must practice well to have a successful conference and to be a good leader today! For example, there are still teams that are having difficulty communicating, listening, and resolving conflict. Read the material, reflect, and practice the skills we are learning about.
Talking about the conference. I provided many suggestions in class and tried to identify the key action items. Here are some suggestions.

- Many conflicts have been brought to my attention in class, on the Wiki, or observing teams interact. Each person in class should read the section on Conflict (causes, dealing with, styles, negotiation, agreements, and resolution) in the Communications and Interpersonal Skills chapter of the text. Once you have done so, you should meet with one other person (it may be myself), who you have been in conflict with or are having trouble communicating with to try to discuss the issue, listen to the other persons perspective, and resolve the conflict. At the end of the project you will complete a last self-reflection and meet with me with evidence of your performance for your final performance review. This might be a good example of learning a skill and helping the team dynamics and organizational culture.
- Use the Wiki to plan, organize, collaborate, and Communicate. I looked today and there are many of you who have not even been on the wiki for two days and some for a week. The major assessment for the next step of the project, which counts as part of your final culminating project mark for the course, is the Workshop Planning and Execution Rubric. You should review the Conference Overview, which includes a summary of how the project is being assessed.
- The Leadership and Technology Project Overview also includes a description of your job and the job responsibilities. You should review to ensure you have at least completed and helped with your main tasks.
- All Project managers and Executives should have a Things to do list on their Wiki "home page". I have made some suggestions on how to organize and done some edits and comments to make suggestions.
- Everyone should volunteer for one task beyond their formal job description to help with the Marketing, Planning, and Organization of the Event. Edit and add your task, name, and due date on the appropriate page. If not sure ask. This was one question on the Status Report.
